I started getting really worried. Lars rarely puts his guitar down. But when he does, it's usually NOT in a very safe place. So we finally got him a stand. He put it together and is so very proud of it.

We picked up Lindsey from the airport today. She had a blast at BYU track camp and with family. But I am so happy to have my little family back together again! (and I'm pretty sure she's happy to be home as well.

I nearly forgot to take a photo today. Imagine that! 200 DAYS of pictures and I forgot! I was doing so well. So after dinner, when Lars took off on his bike. I ran after him, and snapped this picture. A typical afternoon. Lars running off with friends. In clothes he's been wearing for 3 days and no shoes. That kid.

I am rarely up and ready for the day when Jens goes to swim team. But he's been asking me for a few days if I was coming to watch him. I can't believe how much better of a swimmer he is now, than when he first started the team at the beginning of the summer. Here he is practicing the butterfly. My kids are so awesome.

Man, this week we will be crossing things off our summer bucket list left and right. First with a lemonade stand. The kids sat out all afternoon and made $15. Pretty good job I'd say!

Lindsey needed some new shorts. I swear the girl has grown EVEN TALLER this summer! I just can't keep up with her. So I took her and Jenna to Ross hoping we could score a good deal. And score we did. Not only did we find Linds some cute jean shorts but Jenna found these adorable shoes for back to school. However, when we got home she wore them for a few minutes and complained of them hurting her heel. I sure wish she could havediscovered that out when we were still in the store. grrrrrrrrr.

Another thing crossed off our summer bucket list was going to Cliff's Amusement Park. We had a blast. Most of us stayed until closing. Dad and Jens bolted early, and Lindsey got deathly ill from the rides a few hours after we'd been home... Never a dull moment in this household I tell ya.

i had a struggle taking photos this week.
not sure why exactly.

could be because, we have been keeping
really busy. but not really doing anything NEW lately.
jared has been insanely busy at work
and we try to keep nights pretty low key.
lindsey has been out of town all week to
byu track camp.
the kids are all ready for school to start.
or ready for some sort of change.
and i'm too lazy to entertain them every day.
i've been trying to get some work done
so that i'll have money to shop
for school clothes and school supplies.

Every time Jenna hears the ice cream truck she begs for money. I hate the ice cream truck. It's such a rip off. Luckily the truck doesn't come down our street much. But today it did. I let her pick out one treat. She chose the tweetie bird ice cream with bubble gum eyes. A $3 treat...I hope he doesn't come back for awhile. She couldn't even finish the darn thing.

I've been craving popcorn balls all week. Today I finally made some. Lindsey wasn't here to be my helper and I was all thrown off. I didn't boil the mixture long enough so the balls are very soft and gooey. But they are STILL delicious. I went to bed with such a tummy ache.

These two started swim lessons today. They absolutely LOVED it. It is the first year any of my kids have had lessons. The old kids have just kind of learned how to swim on their own and with the help of my younger sisters. And they are pretty darn good swimmers. Jens is actually on the swim team at the community pool. Jenna calls swim lessons swim team. It's so cute! They are doing soooooooooo well. I'm thinkin about putting Lars on the swim team next summer. Jenna asks first thing every morning if it's time to go to swim team. LOVE IT!

A before shot of the living room. As soon as school starts and I go back to work. I'm going to paint the house. I also want to get panels for these two front windows. This one and the one to the right of this room for the dining room. The walls will be natural linen. I just have NO ideas for fabric for the curtains. I know what I want them to look like. Just long panels NOT really closing to cover the window. Just to hang down the sides...Just what? solid? what color? pattern? HELP!

3rd day of swim lessons. She LOVES it. She is becoming the best little swimmer. Today after swim lessons we stayed for regular swimming. The kids swam over 4 hours. She was so tired when she got home and had a 3 hour nap. And STILL went to bed with the rest of us.

I love when daddy gets home. One thing we do regularly is sit on the floor next to each other in front of the TV. Not really watching anything, just sitting together. Sometimes talking about the day. But not usually. Jared has been so swamped at work. I am so grateful how hard he works for our little family.

I've really been trying to teach Jenna the importance of cleaning her room. Most days I have to help her. But I love when she is motivated to do it herself. However, I never know WHERE she is going to put her stuff. Usually NOT where it is supposed to go. This is where I found her little tea set this afternoon. In her doll house. LOL At least they were stacked nicely!

and lindsey gets home on sunday.
i'm so ready for her to be home!

don't get me wrong.
but since my kids have started school.

Summers are HARD.
and well, not so fun sometimes!

Here are my reasons why......

kids are up too late
sunburn
cranky kids
tired kids
fighting kids
no routine
lazy
kids don't want to bath
more laundry
more cleaning
wet clothes everywhere
raggedy haired kids
hungry kids
it's hot
it's humid
bored kids
when it rains the roof leaks

Daddy didn't have to work today. I needed to get out of the house. I suggested we drive through the canyon and visit Tinkertown. I remember loving the funky museum as a kid. After our visit we drove another 30 miles to check out Madrid, NM. (Where lots of the film 'Wild Hogs' was taped) It was a super fun day. I love days that I get to spend with my family. (Outside of the house. HA!)

Part of my goal when starting this 365 photo a day project, was to document the EVERY day. Large and small things that are always going on. Something that is a pretty big part of my every day life is my church calling. I am the Mia Maid Advisor. Every Tuesday night we have mutual. Tonight for our activity we made personal progress book holders and hand bags out of placemats. Since I didn't take my camera to the activity tonight, I figured a photo of the finished projects would be fine.

Wednesday. Jenna and I went to the library today. We try to go once a month during the school year, and once a week during the summer months. These are the books from our visit today. Our big pile of books makes me (and Jenna) very happy. In fact some of them we read twice that morning.

I took the kids (and a few of their friends) swimming today. We stayed till the pool closed. It wasn't a super hot day. But swimming was just what they needed and wanted. Doing something they wanted to, made me feel like a better mom for a change. And it made them tired for the rest of the evening...Here they are, all camped out for a few minutes while watching Sponge Bob. (There are a couple of kids camped out on the floor in front of the TV too.) We always have extra boys at the house. This photo just makes me happy as I try to remind myself that it's GOOD that the kids want to hang out here.

I actually took a couple pictures today. I was bummed though, that I didn't take my camera with me to the airport as I shipped Lindsey off to BYU for over a week as she attends track camp. I'm afraid I'm going to miss her. Out of all the kids, she's the one least likely to get on my nerves. LOL Jenna had Stoney over this afternoon, and those 2 together are a hoot. I took a photo of them playing. But then just now, as I went to dump the photos from my camera Jenna was sitting here, rocking out and playing Lars guitar. She didn't do it long enough for me to get the video camera, but you should know, that the vibrato in her voice was something else. I snapped this photo from the top of the stairs so she wouldn't see me.

Hawks Football camp for Jens this week. He is so awesome at football. He had fun at camp. He is also doing swim team this summer, we had a rough start at that but thankfully things are working out well. And he is enjoying swimming. I'll have to go take a picture of him one morning. He's getting really good at that too!

Very low key Sunday afternoon. It's been a nice quiet day. I played Jr. Scrabble with Jenna. She is SO READY to read. I'd spell words and she'd sound them out. It was so fun to see her putting sounds together and reading. I'll have to push that more this summer and get her ready and excited for kindergarten to start.

Today we went to the dollar movie with some good friends. We saw 'How to Train a Dragon'. (Cute flick!) Jenna asked for her little friend to come over after wards. Jenna ALWAYS asks for friends to come over. They had a little picnic outside-after they got dressed up ofcourse.

It's been years since I went out and got the kids matching shirts for the 4th. So today Lindsey and I ran to the mall to pick some up. Can't wait to see my kids sportin the Red White and Blue. I LOVE the 4th. I'm so thankful for the freedoms that we enjoy!

Lars has been in Colorado with some good neighbors and his best little buddy. He got back last night! (BOY! were things quiet around here with him gone. LOL) Anyhoo. He missed a few things, including his first guitar class and scouts. For scouts they are getting ready for July pack meeting. It's a talent show. Lars will play the 2 songs he's learned on the guitar but the cubs are also putting on a little skit. (the 3 billy goats gruff) Lars is a troll. While I was out driving kids around, I told him to work on his mask for the play. That kid....I was blown away with the mask he made. He is one artsy fellow. That's FOR SURE!

Finally had a chance to spend the afternoon at grandmas house. Under the eagles nest is the kids favorite spot to cool off and get nice a muddy.

i'll be back friday with another week of photos.
i love that i can document my life
in these photos a day.
it will be fun to look back
and remember the fun, the hard, and the crazy.
