Science experiment day. I did NOT want my boys (to want) to do projects this year.. So I purposely let the deadline day come and go.. Neither one really cared. But then 2 days later Jens brought home a sheet saying that his entire class HAD to do a science project.. OY. So we'd put it off long enough, due in one week. We declared Saturday science project day. And low and behold it was actually fun... (for Jens) LOL

Sunday. I haven't taken a photo of the kids for quite awhile. It blows my mind when I see them all together like this. I love my little (er big) family. These kids are so awesome. I am so lucky and BLESSED to be their mom.

Jens moves up to scouts tomorrow. So today and tomorrow will be spent collecting proper uniform attire and sewing those icky patches on. (Lars earned his bobcat and I need to sew on that patch as well.)

Before I headed to work (Tumbling) Jenna brought out the wood trains. We've had this set for YEARS! I'm so ready to get rid of it.. But every once in awhile Jenna drags it out and plays with it for hours on end.. So I guess I will keep it a while longer.

Jenna was invited to a birthday party at 'Stinky Cheese' (Chucky Cheese). So just her and I went out for the night. As one of her little prizes, she got these stuck on earrings. She loved them, they made her feel so big. Now she is asking for pierced ears for her birthday. We shall see what she thinks about that next week when I take her to actually get them done. ROFL

Reading today. I'm really trying to read my scriptures daily. I don't know WHY that is so hard to do. But I desperately need that guidance and peace in my life that daily scripture reading brings.. Today I read 3 nephi 12. (the beatitudes). One of my favorites......

the sun has finally poked out from the clouds.

Took a quick trip to AZ this weekend. Jenna had a BLAST playing with her cousins. The weather was AMAZING mid 70's. I did NOT want to leave. Here are the girls playing outside on the trampoline.

Today is valentine's day. I LOVE valentines day, but we did nothing extra special (besides driving to AZ last minute and taking a trip to ikea_ now THAT was pretty special) However, Sunday night traditions growing up were popcorn and TV on sunday evenings.. One of my favorite memories. I loved that my brother continues this tradition with his family and has popcorn and a movie every sunday night. The girls loved it. Jared had a nap. We watched Imagine That.

My new lamps from ikea. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them... Jared came right home and put them up. He knew I'd be impatient about it I suppose. They are so awesome (That clock and those silver bowls are also from ikea...man i LOVE that store) The lights might look a little out of place now in my dated kitchen.... but in a few months I will have painted walls and painted cupboards... and eventually new table, counter tops and floor.

Two photos for today. We brought back these FRESH lemons from AZ. They are from my sister in laws dads back yard.. What I wouldn't GIVE to have fresh fruit trees in my own yard.. These lemons are HUGE... and the second photo.. Today Jenna had a field trip.. Requiring a sack lunch.. So I added it to our morning pile of lunches... Got a little glimpse into what next year having 4 kids IN SCHOOL is going to be like.. WOW.

Andi had a dentist appointment today, so I watched the kids. Stoney, Sadie and Elly. Stoney and Jenna love playing together. Sadie was upstairs for awhile and really quiet.. I went up to check on her and she was all dressed up. She let me take her picture.. Man, she is so stinkin CUTE!

I worked in Jens and Lars classes in the morning. Then helped out at Jenna's prek party that afternoon. Then ran to the mall, and costco and back home to finished laundry and pack for our quick trip to AZ. The boys stayed with good friends while jared, the girls and I drove out to visit my brother and his family.

One of my goals this year has been to make a new recipe each week. I hate cooking and this has proved to be quite the challenge. However, we have had some yummy new dinners... I found this website 365 days of slow cooking and ordered her cookbook. She rates all the recipes and takes a lot of the guess work out of preparing slow cooked meals. I love the idea of throwing stuff in a crock pot and forgetting about it until that evening.. We are having our first meal from the recipe book tonight.. Asian Chicken Barbecue.. (she rated it 5 stars) It sure smells good. I am starving.. I have only snacked today..

I almost forgot to take a photo for the day. It was 9pm before I realized. I hate using the flash and regrettably don't know how to use my camera in manual mode. So I ran outside (yes the boys were STILL outside in the freezing cold weather) and took a picture, using my flash. And yes, it looks like crap. But I got my photo in for the day.

My new recipe for this week. I got this amazing slow cooker cookbook. There are so many yummy recipes in it.. This one was pretty good although I think I cooked it too long (I cooked it what was suggested) but my cooker seems to cook faster.. I need to adjust that. But I thought these stuffed bell peppers looked so pretty.

Picked me up some flowers from costco yesterday. Trying to find things that remind me of warm spring weather.. Having fresh flowers on my dining table definitely make me feel better.

This is our warm fuzzy jar. I introduced this idea to the kids 2 weeks ago. We are slowly filling it up. (It's taking a LOT longer than I thought it would. LOL) The idea is to do things secretly for members of our family and afterward put a 'warm fuzzy' in the jar. Once it's completely filled we will do something fun as a family. We are getting there...........I think.

Guess who will be 5 soon? We are in full birthday mode in this house. 2 weeks to go until Jens and Jenna celebrate being another year older! I need to create their birthday invites this weekend. Jenna is having an 'under the sea' party and Jens will be shooting rockets with his buddies.

Lindsey had a friend over today. These girls have known each other since 3rd grade. They have grown tall and beautiful together.
